Distillery Equipment Guide

Distillery Equipment Guide

Find your perfect moonshine still with our distillery equipment guide!

At How to Moonshine, we believe in helping you every step of the way. That means our relationship with our customers doesn’t end when they purchase one of our quality craft moonshine stills. That is when our relationship truly begins.

Making moonshine is a tradition rich in American history. However, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a hobby that doesn’t require some education. That is where we come in.

Making moonshine is a three-step process: making a mash, fermentation and running your still. At How to Moonshine, we believe it is important to educate and inform our customers each step of the way. This is important so that you can not only achieve a great final result, but you can also do so safely.

Our Commitment to Quality Moonshine

Our commitment to quality moonshine is apparent by our commitment to education. We offer a free ‘How to Make Moonshine’ e-book for anyone who would like more information about moonshine, regardless of whether they buy a still from us or not.

In addition, we offer online manuals for each of our stills. These manuals will take you step-by-step through the process of assembling your still as well as running it.

Of course, education on how to make moonshine is not worth much if we don’t have quality craft stills in order to back it up. That is why we have spent years perfecting the perfect line-up of moonshine stills and still kits that are perfect for each level of shining.

The Moonshine Cherry

Best for Beginners or Those with Limited Space or Access to Water

The Moonshine Cherry is a compact solution for those who want to make moonshine, distill water or make essential oils.

The Moonshine Cherry is about the size of your kitchen kettle and just as easy to use. It uses ‘plug and play’ technology which means that the Cherry works with a press of a button.

The Moonshine Cherry is a great option for beginners because it is such a simple still to use. Not only does it work with the touch of a button, but as far as running a still, this one is pretty much hands off. There is even a built-in thermostat to prevent overheating. The Cherry will automatically shut off once it reaches 320℉.

Not only is the Cherry still easy to use, it is also quiet. You only know it is working by the quiet hum of the internal fan.

The Moonshine Cherry is the perfect option for someone who wants to make a simple sugar shine for flavored moonshine. It is also a perfect option for distilling water or making essential oils.

The Standard All-in-One Reflux Still

Best for Those who Want to Create High Proof Shine in Less Time

Making high proof moonshine has never been easier with The Standard. The Standard is a column still with a built in electric heater. This means that you don't have to worry about an outside heat source. Moonshinin' couldn't get much easier.

The Standard is designed to create great tasting, high proof shine in less time. The column is designed to be filled with copper mesh which is the perfect blend of affordability and great tasting shine.

The Standard is designed with the shiner in mind. Its barrel is designed to be both a still and a fermentor. This means the Standard does double duty to save you both time and money.

The Standard is designed to be both economical and provide great results. The Standard is made of 304 stainless steel. Unlike copper, stainless steel is both economical and easy to clean and maintain.

However, copper is an important element in making moonshine. This is because copper is able to neutralize the sulphur in your shine which results in a better result. By combining a stainless steel barrel with copper mesh, you are truly able to get the best of both worlds.

The Standard is also designed to be easy to use. It’s simple set-up and upgraded materials mean that it is user-friendly for both beginners and seasoned shiners. Its capacity is completely adequate for most moonshine recipe and it yields about 1 to 1.5 gallons* of moonshine in a single run.
